The Philippine Society of Venereologists (PSV) congratulates all successful examinees of the recently concluded Diplomate Examinations on August 14, 2026 at the DOH Tondo Medical Center Auditorium, Manila

Dr Mark Raphael Piscasio topped the PSV Diplomate Examination with a grade of 91%. Dr. Marvin De Manuel ranked Second and Dr. Jose Alberto M. Lim ranked Third respectively.

A total of 14 successful examinees passed the examination and will join the growing community of Venereologists committed to advancing the prevention and control of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

MANILA, Philippines — AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) Philippines Country Program Manager Dr. Ryan Guinaran met with Philippine Society of Venereologists (PSV) President Dr. Jovanni R. Templonuevo and Vice President Dr. Dennis Gregg Almonte to explore potential collaboration on advocacy and educational activities focused on sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV, and sexual health.

As a leading professional organization dedicated to the prevention and control of STIs in the Philippines, PSV brings together medical professionals committed to advancing knowledge, education, training, and research in venereology and sexual health. The Society has also worked to strengthen collaboration among healthcare professionals, government agencies, and non-government organizations in addressing STI and HIV concerns.

The meeting provided an opportunity for AHF Philippines and PSV to identify areas where their respective expertise and experiences can complement one another, particularly in advancing STI and HIV education, prevention, and advocacy. The two organizations discussed potential initiatives that could help promote accurate, evidence-based information and strengthen public awareness of STI and HIV prevention and care.

The Philippine Society of Venereologists (PSV) is aligned with and supports Health Secretary Dr. Ted Herbosa’s declaration of HIV as a public health emergency today.

This warrants a stronger and coordinated response from the private and public sectors, focusing on spreading correct information about prevention and control and maximizing availabel government and private facilities.

PSV at the same time believes that other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) should also be prioritized together with HIV prevention and control. Other STIs can be co-facilitators as well as proxy indicators of HIV infection.
