Another feather in the cap of PSV, Board of Director Dr. Gilbert Yang is a co-author of the Primer on Patient-Doctor Relationship (PDR).
This manual used by first year medical students was published just this year (2024), and edited by Dr. Albert Chua and Isauro Guiang, Jr.
PDR is a course offered to improve patient care as students become medical doctors, and tackles relevant issues such as patient empathy, patient safety, breaking the bad news, data privacy and the PMA Code of Ethics, among others.
Dr. Yang wrote the chapter on Team Approach to Healthcare, where he discusses the important role of teams in the medical setting and how to promote awareness of students as they interact with patients, as they apply teamwork principles in the hospital environment.
